Gaston Tournament

2011 Richard T. Gaston Memorial Walleye Tournament and Catfish Contest Date has beautiful weather but tough bite!!

Terry McFarland and Jim Hicks best the field with three fish to take the 2011 Gaston Walleye Tournament Title:

First off we would like to thank everyone for all their help and dedication to making this event happen. Both Amy and I are thankful for all the support. Congratulations toTerry McFarland and Jim Hicks on perservering to put three fish in the boat during an extremely tough bite. Dragging jigs very slowly across the flats area produced the winning fish. The pair caught a handful of "short" fish but stuck out on a couple of spots to land thier three legal fish. Thier weight of 5.40 lbs won them them the first place cash prize. They also wons a free taxidermy mount, courtesy of Bohlander Taxidery.

G. Johnson captured the Catfish division of our event. he weighed a basket in at 19.55 lbs.

Congratulations also go to K. Bennett and M. Bennett on taking the first Gaston Bass Memorial event with a limit of bass weighing in at 13.05 pds. 

Congratulations to all those that cashed a check. And many thanks to all that participated. We hope to see you again in future years.
